That actually isn't a British car in my avatar. Shocking, I know.

I've owned / raced a lot of cars, here is the short list:
1999 Mustang GT
1998 Porsche Boxster
2003 Acura RSX Type-S
1996 Nissan 240sx
2004 Nissan 350 Z Track Edition
2003 Porsche Boxster S
1979 Datsun 280zx

And... the reason I am joining the forum...

I'm building a 1976 Lotus Elite as a track car. It's quite a project, we are actually swapping out the 907 engine and putting in its place a Mazda rotary.

Welcome!

Mazda ROTARY in a LOTUS?!?! SACRILEGE!! :jester:

Welcome aboard!

Welcome. I stand ready to be a back-up driver.

The Birmingham in Alabama :smile:

So why the rotary? It was a long road to get to that engine. We originally thought about a V8... the issue is the backbone chassis. Too much torque would twist it, so we wanted to find an engine that produced a good amount of power with manageable torque. The rotary really suited that need. We are estimating 280 whp @ 10,000 rpms.

Solbit = evil
