I'm sitting here listening to the newest John Prine (along with Mac Wiseman)"Standard Songs for Average People" for the first time. It is as good or better than "Fair and Square."

Maybe that will tell you a little about me. I'm a John Prine kinda guy. I live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina and don't care to live anywhere else.

I fibbed a little when I was asked to list any British cars I might own....I've been given a task to help an old friend out with her Healey which I'll post in the Healey forum. It's her car but she asked me just to treat it as if it were mine.

Has anyone here ever been to or remember the Chimney Rock Hillclimb? I was at #1 and have photos....It was a British car lover's heaven, of course the first one was in 1956.

I'm sure glad to find this place and I hope I don't bug you all too much. I'm trying to do a good deed.

I'm getting ready to dive in!

Look out.

Rip

A hearty welcome from one who is probably a contemporary. I have very fond memories of taking a camping trip to the Smokies in about 1956 with my younger brother...we lived in Ohio at the time. Made the trip in my '49 Jeepster. You will find the crowd here has one common mantra-PICTURES!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cheers.gif

My older brother is a John Prine fan. Its been several years, but isn't that the one who sang "Dear Abby, Dear Abby" He made me a copy of that album adn I remember loving it. Welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome.

I'll get busy on those pictures.

Doing a good deed, working on a Healy - that's a win-win situation.

Hi There Rip;

Welcome from the Pocono Mtns of PA: Thats NE PA:

I`m really considering moving to the NW Corner of SC (Greenville Area): I plan on a Trip out there in the Very Near Future (After My House Sells; Who out there is Interested); Meaning Buying My Home Here!

If I were working on a Healey; I would consider It as Part of My Life as well: Have Fun!

Regards, Russ

Thanks, Russ!

I think you are making a wise choice in moving to the Greenville area. It's a really booming economy there. You're also within easy driving distance of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and only about 4 hours away from the beach!

Good luck!
