Hello...what about fuel?

Hey, everyone, I'm glad to have found this forum. I've just bought a '66 BJ8. It's the fourth Healey I've had and the most I've had to pay for by far! The others were from high school, too many years ago to want to remember.

I was looking around the Internet at AHs a few weeks ago and an eBay auction for an original car caught my attention because the car was only an hour away. Well, I got way too attached right away and I just couldn't let go. Fortunately, I've got a very understanding wife, surely a requisite to owning a British car.

I'm pretty excited and can hardly wait to be stranded, I mean for my first drive...

Since I haven’t had to put gas in a Healey since they had leaded gas at the pumps, I'm wondering...does anyone use an additive, or do you have the head re-built for unleaded?

Thanks, Dave

Welcome

My recommendation is to use additive until you inevitably pull the head.
