Hi all

Glad I found your forum have been reading many of the postings and have found many MG lovers like me. I am 62 years old and a grandfather. My first car was a $17 Morris Minor when I was 15 - it was the only thing I could afford and I had to restore it to havce a car - traded it on a '54 Hillman Californian which I drove until out of clooege - then traded it on a '58 MGA and then a new '65 MGB - have had MGs most of my life - usually cars in need of a restoration. Several times an MGB has been my daily driver - a '79 for two years in the mid 80s and a 74 chrome bumper from 1988 until 1991. Currently have a fully retored '67 GT and a 30 thousand mile 2 owner BRG B roadster with factory hard top. I drive both cars several thousand miles each year. I am in the middle of restoring a 59 MGA Twin Cam - ash green and Gray - it will have a twin cam motor in it before the spring and it just came out of the paint shop - body on restoration (body was off 18 years ago so no need to do it again). Have two TR6 for my 35 year old son - he likes TRs becasue his Aunt used to haul him around in one when he was little - will make one car out of both - will be Saphire Blue with black.

I am into cedar strip canoes, guitars and singing and of course playing with my two grand sons - one 12 months old next week and the other 8 years old.

Can;t wait until winter is over so I can get the MGs out on the road - we have had bad weather in Maryland since the fisst of the year.

Glad to be a new member - look forward to helping and being helped with questions.

Welcome,

I'm in the middle of a "frame off" restoration of my '70 B. It's currently stripped to the tub, awaiting welding and paint. I sure would like to see some photos of that twin cam. Sounds very nice.

Hope to see you at the "British Car Week in Southern Maryland" event June 5th hosted by Michael & Mary Oritt. Or the Original British Car Day June 26th @ Lilypons hosted by the New England MG "T" Register Chesapeaks chapter.
Welcome to the forum!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome. What a great collection of intrests...and cars. I'm starting an engine rebuild on a 62 MGA MkII very soon And I've done work on a twin cam vintage race car. I love MGAs. I'll trade ya some work on your A for some new gunwhales on my Stowe canoe. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome. I'm rather new myself with a big restoration of a 74 chrome bumper in progress. It's a big challenge, but this forum has already helped immeasurably. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Sounds like we have similar tastes! I also have a '67 GT and a '65 convertible, plus an MGA although it isn't a twin-cam. But it would be if I could afford one. Welcome! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I could build the gunwhales for you but woul need to see the canoe - in fact I am going to build a set for my brother's 50s Canadian 14 footer - he took them off to re-canvas and we can;t find them anywhere - probably out of ash.

Aluminum ones float too!!! We sure do have lots in common maybe we will meet up at a show - do you attend any int eh Delaware/MAryland/Virginia area.

My roadster is a '65 also - in fact took it out for about 50 mile drive yesterday - great day for MGs - clear and high 50s - still have the hard top on but hopefully be off shortly
