Glad to find this forum. Sadly, as in many cases, around 1973 I bought a used 67 XKE roadster for $2,000 USD. It had a slight engine knock, but a 11 qt sump, it was nothing 5 cans of STP could not quiet. When the engine finally failed, I sold it. Back then, as a low rate in the Coast Guard, I could not afford the $1,500 to rebuild it. Soon I got a early AH 3000. Think it was early 60's. The AH may have been used in some SCCA raicing. The hood had two long rows of vents and it did not have rear sets. The sheet metal came right up to the two seats. Loved driving it, as was the XKE, but I got transferred and could not take two cars. So the AH had to go..Needless to say a 67 XKE roadster is way out of budget now as is a AH 3000. I have a question about Midgets and Spitfires I'll ask.
Oh, HELLO to the member from Richmond, Va. My Home town!!

Welcome Bill! If you ever have occasion to meet Paul Tsikuris of Tsikuris Classics there in Lakeland, be sure to say "Hi from Reid." Paul is active in the Tampa Bay Austin-Healey Club and also had/has an E-type that he vintages races/raced (not sure if he still has it). Probably not much help with Midgets and Spitfires, but you never know.

Be sure to attend the Tampa Bay All British Field Meet & Autojumble in Safety Harbor in October. The Tampa Bay Austin-Healey Club hosts it. I started the event and chaired the first one while president of the Tampa Bay Austin-Healey Club in 1987. I now live in Portland, Oregon, but I'm considering coming to back for this year's event, the 30th annual.

Enjoy the forum.
