Glad to find this forum. Sadly, as in many cases, around 1973 I bought a used 67 XKE roadster for $2,000 USD. It had a slight engine knock, but a 11 qt sump, it was nothing 5 cans of STP could not quiet. When the engine finally failed, I sold it. Back then, as a low rate in the Coast Guard, I could not afford the $1,500 to rebuild it. Soon I got a early AH 3000. Think it was early 60's. The AH may have been used in some SCCA raicing. The hood had two long rows of vents and it did not have rear sets. The sheet metal came right up to the two seats. Loved driving it, as was the XKE, but I got transferred and could not take two cars. So the AH had to go..Needless to say a 67 XKE roadster is way out of budget now as is a AH 3000. I have a question about Midgets and Spitfires I'll ask.
