Good evening all.
We are looking to buy an MGB and thought what better place for advice, ideas, and opinions than these forums. We have owned Triumphs in the past ( Spitfire & a TR250) but with their values soaring, it seems logical to look at the MGB. Not that they are any less of a LBC-it just seems they are currently more budget-friendly. Looking forward to learning and sharing!

welcome and, research is always a great place to start!

First, welcome to the Forum!

MGB's are stout, reliable cars. Best ones (in my opinion anyway) are the pre-'68 version. A preference for "less is best". Only drawback to 'em is the three-synchro transmission, it shouldn't be a problem though if you understand the nature of the unit. The cars got heavier and had diminishing HP output after the emissions laws dictated what went out the tailpipe.

Rust, as always with any old LBC's, should be a prime concern. Fair advice is to find the best one you can, in running condition with comprehensive documentation, then drive it 'til the wheels fall off! šŸ˜‰

And there are plenty of folks here on the BCF with decades of experience to answer questions and willing to help.
