Good day all,

I'm always looking for more info and am happy to share my limited knowledge if I think I can help. I can do light mechanic repairs, brakes, hub replacements, switched out my radiator for aluminum. No engine removals.. yet.

I'm on my 2nd MGB GT for a few years now, current one is a '71 in Blue Teal with 14" UK Minilites. The car came with the Rostyle wheels when I found it on Craig's List only 18 miles from where I live! Super lucky break there. Came as a 4-spd but had a mechanic Rick in Fresno put a later OD trans in it. Wonderful, though I fo miss the trans oil dipstick behind the center console.

My first GT was a somewhat rough '69 in white with factory OD and new Dayton chrome wires. Man I got a lot of flats. Still, it was my daily driver for five years in he 1990's taking it from S.F. up to the Yosemite high country at 9,000 ft elev., lot's of out of town trips, then sold it when I bought my first house and needed something bigger to carry 'homeowner stuff'.

Though MGs are reliable and hardy LBCs (except for the smoke billowing out from under the dash of my '69 - still got home!) I'm on the lookout for a TR4 or 4A or 250. Such beautiful cars, loved them since I was a kid. Okay, I'm still a kid at 65.. 65 ?? Holy cr*p. I don't have much time left to find that TR250! The wife loves then, too, especially the looks of the MGB GT and TR4. I love the look of XKEs ("1,000 lbs of trouble in the back and 1,200 lbs of trouble in the front") and C2 Corvettes, too, but man, 10 MPGs.. so, yeah, no.

Thanks and enjoy your cars!

Hello Victor.

Welcome to the forum.

MGBs are great cars and you will get plenty of help and advice in the MG section. Keep a check in the Triumph classified section TR4s or TR250 come up for sale there on occasionally.

Thanks David, I’m not finding the Triumph or any classifieds here. Of course there is Craig’s list, BAT, Triumph Exp. and a few others. I searched “for sale” on this site and came up empty. Please clarify. Thanks

Click on "Forums" in the upper menus to get the list of forums. Then scroll down to the "BCF Trading Post" where you will find a Triumph classifieds forum.
