Well, new here....looks like a nice enough place. Hoping to learn and help where I can

I have a 1980 FI TR8 that I have owned since 1987. Prior to that I owned a 1971 MGB I rebuilt in high school, a TR7 that made it to LA and back (7 times) and a Fiat 850 Sport Spider we don't discuss publicly...and almost a GT6 that has the saddest ending to a story ever.

I am on a mission to get a TR3 and am here to learn what I can about that model, it's history and hopefully find me one along the way.

Thanks for having me.

Randy

BTW... images of my car are here if anyone cares to look: 1980 FI TR8

YAY! Another Wedge owner in the mix! And a good looking 8 it is!

Welcome to ya, Randy - familiar name, yours.

Yeah, I have a FIAT in my background I don't talk about either. :jester:

Welcome!

Hi There Randy,

"Welcome" the "BCF". "THEE" most definitive place for knowledge, Making new friends and most importantly, "Having Fun".

Best Wishes on your TR3 Hunt. What are you looking for; Project, Driver or Restored condition?

Regards,

Russ

Hi, Randy - and welcome to the forum. Lots of luck in your search for a TR3!

Welcome Randy, from a fellow frozen tundra inhabitant. If you're looking for a TR3, get hooked up with the Friends of Triumph group. There was a member that had a TR3 for sale not long ago. Check out the Triumph group here and you'll get hooked up with a car in no time.

Thanks for such a warm reception. Yes another wedgehead here....once you have one it is hard to sell. Especially considering the price.

Not sure what I want in a TR3 yet. A project would be fun, but I am skimpy on body work skills. Electrical / mechanical...no problem. Body work...ah not so much.

After a couple of months of research so far I am 100% certain I could disassemble one down to the frame....I am about 15% certain I could put it back together. However, the idea of salvaging one from the scrap yard is appealing.

Randy,
Welcome to the world's greatest forum.

Great looking TR-8. I hope to see you active in the Triumph forum, and when you need some relaxation, drop by the Pub as well. Good luck in finding your proper TR3 project. They are fun cars to drive...
