New to the site. Owned two different BJ8's in the 70's, and have restored three cars, including a '67 BJ8. Bought a '66 3000 Mark III in December 09 from an eBay ad. Had the car shipped from Tucson, AZ. It has had extensive restoration but needs more and I'm also redoing some of the work. Transmission and overdrive needed new seals. There is no rust or rust repair to speak of but some bodywork has been done to the right front area. With the help of my body-repair- man brother we are improving on the repair work that was completed with too much filler.
A new lower front shroud repair panel is required and I have the part I purchased from ahead4healeys.co.uk. The part is a poor fit on the passenger side of the grill opening causing a lot of hammer work to reshape and I am working with ahead4healeys.co.uk to get part credit on the price. Will post the outcome. The car started out as Colorado Red but one of the pervious owners had it painted Golden Beige Metallic (BG19). Good job except the frame is still red, that is now being corrected. Just completed replacing the front springs, side rods, tie rods, sway bar rubber and detailed the painted parts.
