Hello from Afghanistan

Great! Will be happy to welcome you home. Have a cold one waiting at the house, or if you'd rather, I'm a regular at the Blackhorse!

By the way, in case you've missed reading about it, the Triumph TransAmeriCan Charity Drive will be visiting Nashville on Wed., Aug. 5. You can check it out here .

John will be staying with us Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I'm planning on driving up to Evansville Tuesday afternoon to escort him to Clarksville, and will bring him to Nashville to the Lane Motor Museum for a reception and hopefully some media coverage. Then, on Thursday we're going to caravan over to Memphis to hand him off to the next segment. If you're available for any of that, it's going to be a great experience.

You have my respect. My son is an 18D and during several years spent a lot of time in Africa. After 9/11 he spent three tours in Afghanistan. He said he had finally found the worst place in the world. He is currently in Bagdad for a few months and I have his TR6 torn apart in my garage in hopes of getting a start on a restoration.

If you have a little more money you might check out a big Healey. The 100s might be a little tight, but a 3000 would be comfortable for a tall person.

Good luck, come back safe.
