HI, MY NAME IS BRADY. I WORK IN A SHOP CALLED ARIZONA STREET RODS IN PHOENIX,AZ. I FOUND THIS SITE WHILE I WAS RESEARCHING A 1958 AUSTIN HEALY BN4 THAT WE ARE ABOUT TO RESTORE. I REALLY AM JUST LOOKING FOR TIP AND FACTS THAT MIGHT MAKE THE PROJECT A LITTLE EASIER. THIS IN THE FIST NON-DOMESTIC THAT WE HAVE DONE. WE SPECIALIZE MOSTLY IN THE EARLY FORDS '28-'40 AND HAVE STARTED GETTING INTO THE FIFTIES AND SIXTIES MUSCLE CARS. WE HAVE A WEBSITE (arizonastreetrods.com)IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED. I AM EXCITED TO LEARN ABOUT THE CARS, I HAVENT EVER GOTTEN INTO ANY KIND OF IMPORT BEFORE, BUT THE AUSTIN HEALEY HAS VERY MUCH INTERESTED ME. MY FIRST QUESTION I THINK IS WHERE DO I FIND AN I.D. NUMBER OR TAG TO LET ME KNOW WHERE TO START. I LOOK FORWARD TO MY EDUCATION.THANKS FROM EVERYONE AT ARIZONA STREET RODS

The car id # is stamped on a black colored plate with "Austin" on it, located on the passenger (LHD) side of the firewall. The body # should be stamped on a smaller plate just right and above the id plate. Engine number will be on a plate at toward the front of the engine under the carbs and manifold (may need a flashlight). Catalogs from Moss Motors will help with parts. Two books: Original Austin Healey by Clausager and Austin Healey Restoration Guide by Anderson and Moment will be beneficial for restoration. Book costs are around $20-$25. Try Amazon.com
