Hello!... and roadside assistance recommendations?

FWIW -- At least in my state (AZ) it is called AAA Premier (not Platinum) and it gets you a tow of 200 miles to wherever you want it to go.

I too carry a lot of spares & tools, but also a map with a circle drawn on it, 200 mile radius with Tucson at the center. Big circle (though about a third of it is in Mexico).

Hello All from a new(-ish) '62 TR4 owner on Long Island. I've had my car for a couple of months, my first classic, and the first car I've ever really approached with a wrench for anything other than a wheel change.

Second job of any note was to change the water pump after the old one let me down somewhere in Jersey and cost me a fortune for a 100-mile ride home on a flatbed.

<span style="color: #990000">Hey Mark, as a followup-
Yes, I was also stranded due to a failed water pump. Now, I carry a spare
water pump and gasket in my trunk. I also carry 2 spare mechanical
fuel pumps and one hard wired electric fuel pump. Stranded too many times
to count due to failed fuel pumps. Fuel pumps are a real failure prone
component in my TR6. I suggest you carry at least two spares.
You should also carry at least 6 each: dizzy rotors, condensers and points.
They also have a very high failure rate. A spare coil or two would be helpful.

Don't be afraid to carry spare parts. These are old cars and the quality of the
replacement parts is cow pies in a box.
