hi, i just bought an 86 XJS today. it's a nice car,but not perfect. two questions; where is a good source for online parts. also,where is the temperature sending switch located on the engine(v12).

there are hundreds of Jaguar parts suppliers all over the US, California has the highest prices, East Coast prices are lower with very few exceptions. So shop till you drop. Also try JagBits (www.jagbits.com) for most any parts, they're in New Mexico. Also look at the ads here from suppliers. Overall, older Jaguar parts should be inexpensive, so shop around, you'll find prices for the same part vary by 50% in some places. Even here in Orlando, there are some shops that carry parts, but do stay away from the Jaguar dealer unless you have lots of dinero!
 
There are two temp sending units. One on the right side, buy the thermostat for the temp gauge. It has one wire attached. The other is on the left side, by the other thermostat and has two wires connected (the connector looks like the ones on the injectors). This one is for the ecu.
