I’m a 78 year old with a 52 year old TR6. An old codger with a powerful sports car might be considered by some a dangerous combination, but fear not, I’ve been constantly unsuccessful in getting the ‘old girl’ — On The Road Again.

She’s been in my questionable care since October 1985; she was sent to the USA fully assembled in October 1971.

Sincerely, I try my best with all the manuals and tools I’ve acquired over the years, yet oftentimes with trial and error as my guide, wish I was more of a mechanic.

She sat for many years, from around 1994, in fact, there in the open weather with all four tires slowly sinking into the asphalt, there, in front of my garage. Sat with what I’m sure NOW must have been a fuel tank full of harmful evaporating and contaminating gasoline.

Welcome to BCF, from another Old and Confused (but one year younger) car fan.

When I first joined, I asked for help in getting the brakes to function on my MGB. Another member asked if the engine ran smoothly. I said it doesn't run at all. His reply: If the engine doesn't run, don't worry about the brakes!

Good to have you with us.

Welcome. Sounds like many of our projects, sitting quietly, waiting for us to get back to them… I’ve got a Sprite like that parked sideways in the back of the garage, blocked in by the Morris Traveller that has the engine out. My excuse is that I have to go to work still, but hopefully won’t be working for much longer.

Glad you could join us! Bet you think you're an older member! Nope, you're only about average here LOL!
