Hello,

Helping my son with a 1977 MGB. His aunt needed to get it out of the garage so she made him a deal. Now it's in my garage...whopeee. It has not run for several years but turns over. Some wiring looks to be broken loose or not connected. Thought I'd join a forum to get any and all tips. My goal is to get it started and list it for sale. Seems to have good bones as they say. Found a wiring diagram pretty fast so we're off and running (or not).

Any way thought I'd say hi and thanks!

We’ll I got it to fire up! Multiple issues, disconnected wires after someone replaced the coil and cut wires to an old resistor, traced cut wires got a backfire (hey now) but no spark. Pulled the points cleaned, adjusted (old owners manual in glove box, thank you, got spark, no start. Checked firing order and was off, corrected, no start. Pulled all plugs, all but #1 gummed up and nasty, cleaned. Sprayed starting fluid in each cylinder, plugs back in…boom!! Just the beginning I suppose 🤣, no clutch goes to the floor, no top, friend says fix it, paint it red and she'd buy it!! Wish us luck

Cool! I'm guessing you took the pics with an iPhone. Weird effect that they get rotated like that. If you crop the pictures (even just slightly) before uploading they won't get rotated like that.
