Hi everybody,
I just wanted to make a quick introduction on these forums. My name is Read and I'm working on getting my Morgan back on the road. I'm a graduate student so I don't have much time to work on cars except during the summer. I kept stumbling across these forums while googling stuff for my car so I figured I'd join. I've already found many threads quite helpful.
As far as the car goes it's a 1960 Morgan +4 4 seater that my grandfather picked up from the factory in 1959. Since then it was driven around in the 60's then garaged for decades. Recently I've been trying to get it back on the road. It's powered by a TR3 motorset with dual SU carbs and a moss box. As far as getting it roadworthy it has a few things that need addressing (besides Lucas electrics). This weekend I'm going to replace the tie rod ends and bent tie rod (the tie rod was bent after a tree jumped out infront of the car in my driveway). It does run hot if it's parked and I have upgraded the fan to a 6 blade one - I think there is a good deal of crud in the cooling system aswell since the drain plugs don't drip unless i poke something in them. Just got the radiator recored aswell. Hopefully the headgasket is alright (compression 150 on all 4). A local mechinic is going to come over in the next few days and help me fine tune the carbs. I'm crossing my fingers and hope I can get it purring soon.
Also during the summer I compete in some local autocrosses in my daily drive (a 1997 nissan 240sx)
