The rest of you may be amused to know that I finally bought my first TV with a remote control about 3 weeks ago.

Nope....just an "aerial".

But I have to be honest...this is in my "hobby" house, which is our Summer lake house. We also have a townhouse where, she insisted, that we have all the modern crap.

It's a good arrangement: I keep all my toys at the Summer house.

When I'm "in town" I'm the "posh me" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/angel.gif
When I'm "at the lake", I'm the "barbarian me", dressing in my worst, raggy clothes. Happy as a pig in....well, you-know-what. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

My office-mate has cornered the market on vacuum tubes in the eastern US....he worked at Bells Labs in Murray Hill, NJ in the late 50s (where *everything* was invented). When he left, they gave him truckloads of that junk.
