"Karen Blanchard's snazzy 1961 Austin Healey Roadster will be part of Encinitas 101 Main Street Association's "Heels and Wheels" tribute Thursday, Aug. 20 to the gals who drive their classics.
From 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Blanchard and many other ladies will be cruising on Coast Highway 101 in downtown Encinitas and parked in the Smog Test Only lot at F Street as part ofClassic Car Cruise Nights.
“This is the only tribute to our women and their wheels in southern California,” said Doug Jones, volunteer organizer of the event.
It's free to participate and as of Tuesday, there was space still available for women who would like to join. Daily drivers are welcome. (Yes, Blanchard drives the convertible every day and she has for more than 20 years, said Jones.)"
