The camera is checked and ready to go for the dyno
run on Tom's 1275.
Thanks for the great opportunity to learn.
I'll do my best to get Tom some killer footage.
 
Well hopefully this all works out, Tom came by yesterday with some carb issues, an I think they were minor, I give him a list of things to do, and hopefully it all worked out, and we're on, check in with me on the cell phone, Russ, David can give you my cell number.
 
Got my new needles from Joe today. I'm excited to try 'em out but will have to wait a bit. Car is scheduled to hit the paint/body shop by the upcoming weekend.
I'm keeping it Speedwell Blue but sans the stripes.
Ordered the new grill and bumper from AHSpares today too.
Still waiting on the 7/8 tubular anti-sway bar.
The Plan is coming together.

Sooo...I installed the AAE needles today in place
of the AAMs currently in Mimi's HS4s.(fun job)
Too lean. Sputtering and feeling starved at WOT.
AAAs go in tomorrow. These are just a bit leaner than the AAMs.
The plugs pulled before installing the AAEs showed a nice "coffee w/ cream" with the AAMs that were in the carbs. No obvious fouling so I'm hoping the AAAs are the correct ones.
I'll know more tomorrow.
 
Don't you know someone that could help you with this that happens to be a expert with twin HS4s on 1275s, maybe giving him a shot at those carbs would be a good idea, since he's your buddy and won't charge you a dime, you knucklehead :jester:

would be too easy for you so I'm seeing how farked up I can get it first. I just love to fiddle with Mimi.
You know I'm depending on you to get me to the dyno and massage
a few extra ponies out of her.

I`m a bit confused with your post. Would you like "David & Myself" to give you a call or pass your Cell Phone # onto "Tom"? Is Tom on this site?

"DAVID"; What weekend is your B/E going in for a facelift; This weekend (3-12 or 3-19)? Is she going to "Mike"?

"TR3" up-date: Fred & I (Mostly Fred) Installed the "Tractor Engine & Trans" yesterday. All went pretty smoothly and looks Great.

No further needle tom foolery to report. Wife forbid me to
fire it up on Sunday.
As the subject line says, heeding my better's advice, I
haven't touched it since.

enough to get to the paint shop..REAL soon.
Screamin' Mimi strip next week. She'll be there all week and works for tips, Gentleman.

The first thing I would do to your carbs David is switch them over to solid needles because I know that needle range alot better and it is what I mostly have, nothing wrong with the biased spring needles as long as a near stock deal is what you are dealing with, but on your car, that ship has long sailed :smile:

Well, I had about an hour to tinker today at lunch.
Put in the AAA needles. Definitely better than the AAE
but I still have a ways to go.
Hap...I think you hit a nail on the head. Solid needles may be my answer.
The AAA needles give me decent WOT but I have intermediate
sputtering under a load. Steady cruise is smoother now than
with the AAM set.
I'll tune some more this weekend.
