thats interesting about the fuel gauge?

My fuel gauge is disconnected at the moment as I am having some work done to the boot/tank area. I would never have considered this to have any connection with the blower issues? Maybe I should reconnect it and try again?

I am just familiarizing myself with the heater controls, and have pulled the various cables, to include the choke on my BN7, and relubricated them. I find the directions for opening and closing the heater and cool air ducts curious, i.e. the cool air is open when the knob is pulled out, as is the heater knob when pulled out. It made sense to me to have the heater valve or flapper adjusted so that it is closed when the knob is pushed in, open when it is pulled out. There was no problem doing that, and you can verify the flapper valve position by removing the clips that hold the bottom of the heater box closed and reaching into the heater duct on the right side and feeling the position of the flapper. In other words, my system means you get cool air when that knob is pulled out, warm air when the heater knob is out. I must admit that I set it up this way because I thought it logical, only to find out that the manuals prefer to have the heater off when the knob is out, on when it is pushed in. That doesn't make sense to me.
 
I think the designers thought that their logic was simple. When you want to be cool, pull both knobs out. When you want to be warm, push them both in.
 
Not to mention that my Healey is often cooler with the right knob in and left knob out as the vent usally adds +20 degress to the ambient cockpit temperature.
 
On my car, I found that both driver and passenger side fresh air vents added lots of warm air when the out side temperature is above 90 degrees. Even with the water to the heater shut off at the engine valve. I found the way to fix this was to move to the Central Coast of California where the typical temperature is 68 to 74 degrees. Much nicer weather for driving a Healey.
 
Hi if you keep the heater outlet open you will get nice hot feet, once you close the heater outlet doors you will get a lot more hot air the windscreen
