TR2/3/3A Heater Rheostat

I posted an earlier thread concerning the panel and heater rheostat but this is somewhat different. I have a friend looking for a heater rheostat. Always looking to save a buck and having just received the Moss magazine/sales catalog I noticed they have the TR4 panel rheostat on sale for $28.99; whereas the TR3A heater rheostat is $142.99. Quite a difference.

Randall You knew the resistance of the TR3 heater and panel rheostats. Do you know the resistance of the TR4 panel rheostat and would it fit/work as a TR3A heater rheostat?
 
I didn't find a listing for it, but in general the panel rheostats are higher resistance and not designed to carry the current of a heater motor.

Besides, I've never found any need to slow down the heater in a TR3A. You either don't need the heater at all, or it doesn't put out enough air to keep the car warm. Even with the blower on high, it cooks your right knee while the rest of you is cold.
