Hi,

Does anyone have for sale the heater pipe that runs along the block from the water pump housing return to the L-shaped heater hose? Or if anyone knows the diameter of that pipe maybe I could fashion one.
Any help would be good.
Thanks,

TRF was selling those; sorry, don't have the Stanpart number handy....

Moss shows it in stainless (part# 635-085) for $50.

I am in the process of making one out of copper, 1/2 inch tubing. I bought the offering from TRF it didn't fit, in several different ways plus it is polished stainless and the originals were painted black. Biggest problem is putting the right angle bend in the 1/2 inch tube. Whoa! I just suddenly realized that maybe a plumber could do it for me. Biggest bender I have is 3/8" and that is true of most of the auto parts houses around here. Hmmmmm, guess I'll check with a plumber.

Thhanks for the info, I have a copper pipe, looks like I will attempt the bend, however, it looks like there is another slight bend forward of the distributor where it goes into the return housing. I'll bet you could make the 90 degree bend by filling the pipe with sand (so it wouldn't collapse) and making a round former out of some 3/4 or 7/8 plywood amd then attempting to sandwich the pipe between a concave and convex plywood former with a right angle bend shape. I'll think I know what I'll be doing this weekend inside out of the 20 degree temp in my garage.

Called the plumber that did my house and he has a bender so I'm to pick it up tomorrow. Thursday will be the first chance to try it. Not sure what I'm going to do about the little hiccup at the other end. Have to work on that some. I was actually able to put a decent right angle bent in with my 3/8" tube bender. I then brought to a friend to silver solder the mounting tab. I didn't hang out while he was doing it and he did it wrong. Then I found that I really had cut it too short. So its back to the drawing board Thursday. I'm going to do my own silver soldering this time. I'm using the mounting tab from my original.

If you start with a longer piece, it's not too hard to make the "step over" next to the water pump with a standard bender. Put a 20 degree or so bend in from one direction, then work the other way to put an opposite bend just an inch or so away. Once you've got that tweaked to suit, cut the pipe to length and go on from there.
