TR6 Heater Removal

Absolutely, you have to take the dash support for sure and maybe some of the heater and choke controls.

Well, before I try to remove the heater, I ran power to it and it began to smoke. Any thoughts on that? Thanks to all.

Hi Bill. The motor is probably frozen. I took a motor from a junked MG Midget and with some effort got the TR6 fan on the shaft - it worked OK. Remove the glovebox and pull the heater unit out that side. It'll get hung up on a few things, but with the right swearwords, it does come out.

Before you go through all the trouble of pulling the fan, you might consider just pulling the heat full on.
Even without the fan the heater core puts out lots of heat; enough to keep you comfy.
How much winter driving do you expect to do?

I'm not sure I know what you mean. The unit doesn't work at all.
I'm saying just by pulling the "Heat" knob out there's plenty of heat without the fan.
