TR2/3/3A Heater Bracket Question TR 3A

Sitting here looking at my heater brackets I just installed and due to the relationship between the support rod and the bracket there is no way that the heater can be mounted in a level position. It will be tipped towards the front of the car. Now, is that just me and my car or is that just the way it is? Should I even care? Am I over-engineering again?

Appreciate your thoughts, thanks, Tinkerman

I just looked at mine, and yes, the heater is on a slight angle...lower towards the front. Over engineering again Tink!

Yep, been known to do that, heh! Thanks Art.

Just looking at pics of mine and they look like it slopes from back to front slightly upwards.....looks like the brakets on the firewall are slightly lower.

As you can see, my two cars have the heaters positioned differently (pipes to escutcheons, 1 is left and 1 is right). As a side question, which one is right?

Thanks Peter

The orientation of your de-mister outlet and fex. duct is wrong.

Also, see my article in the wiki area.

Good luck

Hi Frank,

Thanks for posting that, I have bookmarked it for future reference. If you look at the 2nd and 3rd photos, it looks like that one might be installed correctly. The top photo is from my parts car and is most definately NOT correct.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd

Frank photos will come in handy later, and thanks for the other information.

Frank - The clear plastic hose you have to feed the windscreen squirters will work, but that clear plastic wasn't invented yet during the 1958 to '60 era. My 1958 TR3A came with black rubber hoses and the TRA judges will notice your hoses. Sorry, but it's not too late to change them.
