Heater box Grommets [Parts Find]

This is not a big deal, but for anyone looking for a heater box, top cover, grommet for the outlet(side without the valve) I found a perfect fit in a generic wire grommet kit at Advanced Auto Parts. This part shows N\A in most parts books.

Re: Small Part Find

You are being modest. Your post is the "bread and butter" of these forums, and IS a big deal when a person is looking for a non-listed part! Without substitute and/or less expensive parts location our hobby/passon becomes VERY frustrating at times....Thank you for the post. Now, I would ask a favor. When you post a goodie like this, title it with a keyword that will allow it to be found in the archives, otherwise the benifit of your help will be "hidden" unless someone types in "small part" while doing a search for a heater grommet.Again, thanks! I'm heading to Advanced AP for the kit today.

Re: Small Part Find

Thanks for the comments. I think I got the title better in edit mode.
If you need anymore info on the parts package I still have the box. There were an assortment of grommets for which I am sure I will find a use. I had tried a bunch of different sizes and styles but none got the job done. I found this just by trial and error.

Re: Small Part Find

Thamks again CKD. The new heading really jumped out at me. As to the archives only being good for a year, I was suprised. I thought they went back further Patton. Well, one year is better than what I was working with before...(which was by guess and by god plus a Chilton book) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

CDK, does the grommet you found have a part number or some form of identification ? That info if available would also benefit others looking for the item.-Good show -Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Keoke,
The grommet was in a mixed package of about ten different sizes. It was located in the asile with generic items like window handles, door lock nobs, springs ect.
I have found this section of the auto parts store to be a decent (and relitivly new) spot to find parts to use or slightly alter. I know they are not NOS or concourse acceptiable but there are times when you can get pretty close or find a substitute for a non available item. A quick trip to the garage has resulted in a part number.
The packages are called "HELP!" "wire grommet" Part # 02365.

OH thats great CDK, most of the discount auto part stores carry that line of hardware and others can easily locate one now.- /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gifKeoke
