heat insulation - interior

If you are insulating a plastic tunnel, where rust isn't an issue, wouldn't it be best to put the stuff on the outside so that it is reflecting the heat away from the car. If it is applied on the inside it will just be trying to contain the heat in the gap between the tunnel and the insulation material. A bit like closing the curtains to keep the heat out of a house. It is much better to have the blinds on the outside of the windows.
Just a thought from someone in damp, cold Scotland where the insulation would be far better used on the inside of the soft top!

That was my thinking....I bought the foil backed (both sides)insulation and alumuinum tape from Moss, and attached to the "outside" with heavy duty 3M adhesive...sealing the exposed edges with the tape. I happened to be installing new carpets, so I used the standard undercarpet felt kit "inside" the car.

The combination is noticably quieter and cooler

Cheers

Hey, is your 6 Brown?

Yeah, "Brownie", right now, not doing a "heck of a job", but maybe in another six months.... My wife and daughter hate the crappy faded brown paint. Keith Martin in SCM derided the brown paint jobs of cars in the '70's. No one loves a brown sports car....
