I had the pleasure of seeing this Healey in Dixon. Way COOL! I also had the pleasure of meeting Big Healey (Tracy) and Walter there. I handed out British Car Forum Cards to a bunch of people (there were about 250+ assorted British sports cars and sedans). Tracy had worked all night to get his Healey ready for the show and it looked great. I couldn't stay for the end so I don't know if got First Place (yeah, right). I didn't expect much there but I was blown away by the quality of the event. They had a swap meet attached and I got an almost new luggage rack with mounts for $25.00 and a newish old fog lamp for my badge bar (now I need the other one) very cheap. There were about 20 big Healeys and a half dozen Bug Eyes and Sprits. Very nice people too.

My BN1 is in about the same condition as this Silverstone as far as the bodywork goes. So how come when I see someone elses car I can admire a patina of age and see the cars character shining through but when it's my own I just think it looks tatty?

Could it be that I know that my car has been restored (around 20 years ago) so the patina isn't original?
