Anyone know if the Healey e-mail list is working? Have not got a post in several days.

I think it is down. I also haven't received any emails from there in a couple of days. Also, trying to log onto their archive gives me a "page not found" error.

Hi Keoke, /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/savewave.gif
I think the email list Scot is referring to is from https://www.team.net. The Scions of Lucas.
Over the past 7 or 8 years, I have occasionally tried to sign up for it. My only take is that it doesn't like AOL (I've never gotten it to work me me).

Hey Randy,
It may be the other way around. I think AOL sees a bunch of emails coming from the same address and assumes it is SPAM. A couple of team.net subscribers had trouble a few years back with AOL tech support not allowing the mail go through. They wound up dumping AOL and going with another ISP. I believe that fixed the problem.

It's been down for a few days

Yes, apparently it is out of operation. ALL THE MORE REASON for everyone to drop it permanently and sign up for the far superior British Car Forum...

It would be great if we could get everyone together here, rather than split between different lists and forums. The last thing we need is more fractioning and less pooling of knowledge. This forum seems to me to be superior to an email list in so many ways.

Not Basil's place that other place.

Hi Everyone, I had read somewhere, maybe it was here, that the mail list was considering shutting down for good. The responses to that idea seemed to be in the affirmative. Maybe it is done for!

Like may others here, I thought the Healey List had bit the dust but evidently not. It lives. Quit frankly, I enjoy both it and the BCF. Three Cheers to Mark Bradakis.

I love it around here, so don't ban me for saying this...

The team.net lists have been around since at least the late 90's and have been an invaluable resource for me and many others. I prefer the email exchanges to a forum due to their simplicity and ease of reading on my ipaq, which I do often.

Don't make whatever problems are happening at Mark's a rally cry for him shutting down.

The "Healey Mail List" was a separate list, which was agreed as not very useful anymore. It was not the same as Marks regular "Healeys" list. I know of no plans to eliminate the regular list. Both this forum AND the Healeys list are very useful In their own ways. I'm sure there is room for both.

You are incorrect. That exchange involved the shutting down of a list what was specific to the "officials" of one of the clubs and contributors to their magazine and was intended for broadcasts to that limited body of users -- not the Healey population. Since there was a very limited number of users, and there had been no activity in many months on that ONE list, it was shut down. The healey, spridgets, lotus, etc lists have NOT been shut down. There is an apparent server and or weather problem in Utah where the lists are domiciled.

It is rather disingenuous to wish ill on anything relative to Healeys even if it is another source of information. Many of us prefer to get our information, questions and answers from the Healey List as we do not have to do anything other than to open our email programs. Logging onto a list such as this and then scrolling or searching for an appropriate topic is not my cup of tea.

I like the Healey list for the diverse topics that come automatically into my computer.

Cutting down to one source of information is akin to eliminating one of the national magazines. Whose should we no longer subscribe to??? I would rather have both and any other source of information.

Frankly, this is the first time that I have been on this forum in about a year or so as I find it cumbersome and only logged on so that I might be able to find some information about the Healey List.

Folks:

ALL of Mark's Lists (i.e. server??) got hit with something last late Thru or early Fri. Even his business site is down!!

He had spridgets & healeys Lists back up for a short time Wed. and they died again. There has been some iffy traffic on those 2 today out of the 9 I am on. Keep in mind he has around 50 Lists!!
And does so for NO CHARGE and has NO "sponcers".

I would sincerely request that you do NOT do "test" or "is this thing alive" type messages while he is in the recovery mode as iy only gives him MORE of a migrain!!!

Regards........

Ed
