I wanted to take a moment and express my appreciation and good fortune to be a part of the BCF. Special thank you goes to Basil. For starting this forum six years ago and making it what it is today.
The love for our cars and the wealth of information, advise, opinions, knowledge and willingness to help fellow Healey owners is priceless.
I feel blessed to have found and acquired the same year Healey that my father loved and drove as a daily driver back when I was a child. Mother would tell me how much she enjoyed riding with him in the Healey. I miss my parents dearly, for they have both passed on. I always thought the Healey was beautiful and how cool was my dad for driving one. Everyone has a story why we drive a Healey.
I always told myself, when the time is right, I too will own the same car my dad so loved. Now I know why he did. I became a proud owner of my 64 BJ8 in October of 2004. Two weeks later it was off to the body shop for what was suppose to be a beautiful, yet simple paint job. Well, we know how that goes. Well, here it is, 19 months later and I’m happy to say she came home yesterday, on a flat bed, in the rain. Photo attached.
So what did I do for 19 months besides beg and plead the body shop to work on my car? I pleaded to at least let me work on it. Which meant I was here on the forum asking questions about this or that.
Thank you everyone who helped me. Now that my car is home, I will be asking a lot more questions, as I am now going to put her back together. Hopefully down the road, I will be able to repay the kindness by offering help to others. Cheers everyone, Roger
