It took just over one hour to install the engine and bolt up the engine/transmission mounts. Thankfully no aluminum damage was done! I think it looks right at home don't you?! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We ended the night with some Dos Equis

P.S. Don't worry the washer bottle bracket will be painted Tudor Blue as soon as we find some paint.

Well David, if you can find a replacement handle it can be drilled out and replaced with new.Alternatively, a brass screw with the same thread as in the ball can be used.Over the screw fit a bit of brass tubing and solder it in place.Shape the head of the round head screw to emulate the old handle. Give it a good polish and you will be good to go.---Fwiw---Keoke

Well Keoke, if the engine were rebuilt proper (to original specs), the oil leaks will protect the unpainted parts. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

HEY Keoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif ya know how 6AM morning fog raises up off the meadow 10 or 15 feet on a muggy humid day almost like a wall of moisture you can't even see through? Hmmm do ya /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif Well THAT'S what I think goes on under the bonnet of a freshly rebuilt to-specs Big Healey and that oily stuff covers Everything /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif which is why I think he'll be just fine with his unpainted head bolts there /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Congratulations, looks beautiful. If you're like me I didn't even want to start it up!

davdk, nice job! two comments if i may, 1 -replace the old fan with a 6 bladed s.s. model especialy if yours is an original me thinks ya gunna be doing it "down the road" anyway, and 2- you might have over done the heat shield material around the engine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
