Healey BN2 Distributor Question

Should the distributor on the Healey BN2 have lock washers on the two bolts that attach the distributor to the engine block?

The best way to secure it is lock washers over flat washers. I checked the Moss catalog, Clausager and Anderson-Moment and didn't see any pictures showing this, but it's the only logical way to cover the oblong slots in the base plate.
