Healey BN1 Ignition Light

If it is illuminated when running then it is, as DerekJ says, not charging. If it is illuminated after you switch off - as you say however - then it is getting current when it should not be and you may have a short.

Thanks Guido, I forgot to mention, the Voltage Regulator, before I could get to the isolator switch, became very hot and smelly. I'm wondering if it could be the culprit.
