Healey Blue

Hi, From the MGB forum Am painting my B and would like a readily avalable paint that is close to the Healey Blue. Can't have a Healey yet, but at least the color! Waiting for Lotto! Dennis

Here's another link to a supplier who does a version in Dupont. I suspect it might be more costly than having your local PPG jobber mix up a batch using the PPG formula in my prior post. Since it's a non-original color on your B, you probably don't need to be too concerned with getting "the" Healey Blue. It should look great on the B. (Much better than "Harvest Gold" would look on a Healey /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif)

I contacted the folks at PPG around Healey Blue. The frist post is my question and the second is the answer I received.

I understand that in 1999 PPG acquired ICI paint business. I am looking
for the modern day equivelent of ICI color 2301M or BU2. The color was
known as Ice Blue Metallic. It was used on my 1965 Austin Healey 3000. I
was wondering if you have a cross reference chart. I could not locate one
on your website

Anthony,
Thank you for your interest in Nexa Autocolor. The old ICI Autocolor number is still accurate; there is no cross reference required for this reference number. Since the acquisition of ICI; both PPG and Autocolor have mnaintained unique brand reference codes. (2301M has not changed in any form )
Thank you for your inquiry,
RCL
