Sure did. In my Datsun 510, back in the seventies at Hampton Bays. Was one of those 'Hey Bubba, watch this' moments. Really, whats the worst thing that could happen?
 
Yes, did the same thing in a TR3 at Island Beach State Park (NJ) in 1969.

The park ranger had to tow us out.
