Does anyone know what the stock spring rating is on a BN2? Moss advertises there's as not exact replacements & probably the same as most other suppliers are selling. Dennis Welch only sells a Race/Rally version rated at 412 lb. I'm wondering if this is too stiff for typical street use?

Hi mwagon, I don't know the stock rating is for a BN2 application but I have been running Denis Welch 600# front springs with a 7/8" sway bar for over 10 years now in my BN4 (I average around 5000 miles a year street driving) and I don't think they are too stiff for street driving. My guess is you will like the 400# springs, if you like a firm ride and flatter cornering.

I suggest you call Denis Welch and ask them what the stock spring rate is, I bet they know and can tell you.

Hello mwagon, welcome to the forum.

If you have a BN2 you could always get the springs tested. that way you will know what difference the DW springs are and how much stiffer they are.

Make sure you test both springs to check they are both within a reasonable limit.

I'm not sure what information is available from the BN1/BN2 workshop manual to compare springs. I don't have a manual available to look at it but I;m sure someone could do that.

Best Regards,

bundyrum.
