Healey 100-4 Freeze Plugs

There are two common Freeze Plug style's (see attached images), the Disk shaped & Cup Shaped. I would think either style will work in a Healey, but it seems like the Cup Shaped version would give better sealing area & probably easier to install straight. My plugs were already removed before purchasing car, so unsure what style was original. Also what type of sealant is typically used during installation?
Any comments on what should be used?

Mine has the second one....Have not seen any like the first.....nor have I looked..
