Need a new convertible top for your Tr-3?
you might want to check this out!
I ran across this website quite by accident and decided it may be worth a look. I notice that they sell Robbins tops for many foriegn sports cars. I looked up the one I need for my Tr-3 and noticed there was a possible substantial savings to be had compared to some of the other vendors.
NOTE: They also sell the tenax fasteners in bulk. {the original product I was browsing for}

Does anyone have a recommendation for hardtops for TR6's?

I see the same couple on eBay and such ranging from $400 to $1500...

Any help would be appreciated.

If the factory hardtop is missing the rear glass you are out of luck, no way to get the glass except from an existing top. If you find one with the rear glass but rusted up, lots of money to fix, if at all. If you find one without the liner bows, out of luck, no longer available (pop up from time to time used), but there are alternatives. A complete top in good shape will cost a lot. Get the most complete top you can afford to repair and repaint.

Actually, you can get the glass reproduced. It is a simple piece of flat glass and a custom glass shop can get a custom piece of tempered flat glass fairly easily. The work required on your part is to make the template for the glass unless the glass shop is willing to do that for you as well. True, you simply can't place an order for one, but you can get it done. My hardtop had a piece of Plexiglas fitted in the rear window and I was going to go that route (glass shop) but then I sold the hard top.

You are mistaken about the rear glass. It is not flat. There is a curve to the glass as it spans the width of the window opening. The side windows are flat. My hardtop lacks only a new headliner and some outside trim before final assembly. All windows are out which allows you to see the curve or bow.
I think most relatively modern cars use a slightly curved rear window to prevent the reflection of light coming through the front window, bouncing off the back and returning to the front as glare on the inside of the windshield and gages.
I've been thinking about taking my rear glass and laying it up against the front and rear glass on various cars to see if anything matches the curve. If I find a match a glass shop may be able to use a modern piece of glass as a donor to cut out a new rear glass for the TR6. Just an idea at this point. I'm not sure how the authorities would react to a guy testing windshields in a mall parking lot. Plus I'm very very careful when handling that piece of glass since there is no known source for a replacement.
I have seen ads in Hemmings Motor News and some Hot Rod magazines for custom glass. I haven't contacted anyone about making a new window fot the TR6.
An alternative is to use a piece of Lexan or some other high quality scratch resistant plastic. My top came with what appears to be a spare plastic rear window. I haven't compared it to the real glass, but I can tell you that it is flexible. Maybe enough to match the curve of the window frame.

How may TR6 owners do we have on the forum who need that rear glass? In my case I would explore the idea of trying to match the curve to a currently available piece of glass so I can have a spare. If others are interested I will start to look into this more seriously.

I will also measure the depth of the curve and post the results.

The angle the glass is at should take care of any reflection, whether it is flat or has a slight curve. If it is slight enough it may not truly matter in most cases. Evidently there have not been enough requests for hardtop glass for any of the suppliers to even consider making a small run. Plus the smaller the run, the more expensive they are going to be.
