Headlights??

Wondering what the group feels are the best headlights for our cars? I've tryed several halogens and have not come up with a set that I really liked. Some when set for the correct aim on high beam put their low beam at about 50 feet in front of the car.
Great for 6 foot tall 4 wheel drives I suppose but not for me.
Others don't have a bright enough center but a very wide beam.

Are Hella's worth the money?

Opinions please??

Kurt.

The H4 Lucas lamps on my bugeye are bright.
Good spread at low and really bright on high.
The sealed beams in my wife's MGB stunk. Low or high
beam.
She loves these lamps from Moss for her B.
A good upgrade. Much better coverage.

Where are the h4 Lucas lamps available at, David? I don't see them advertised by the usual suspects. Hellas and the Wipacs that Moss have will set me back over a $100 which I don't mind if I know they are good. Hard to swallow otherwise. I have fitted several sets of Sylvania sealed beam halogens in the past but believe there are better lights out there now.

Kurt.

Sorry I was just showing off those NOS Lucas.
I guess a set might be a bit hard to source.

The clear lights on the MGB are not sealed beams and use h4
bulbs.

These work on the B and are just plug and play.
Look nice too. Not factory but it's what the Miss
wanted and they are MUCH brighter than the sealed beams
that were on her ride.

Was not aware that Lucas was still making headlights when the halogens came along. But then there are lots of things I'm not aware of! Just ask my wife!!
Thought maybe someone had started up using Lucas again.
Anyway, wish I had a set!!

Kurt, I have asked your wife.
She's a wise woman, you are a lucky man!

Here's a closeup. You can see the Lucas name raised in the glass and the H4 sticker in the center.
