TR2/3/3A Headlight Dimmer conversion to dash switch

I'm tall and like the bracket for the dimmer switch for a foot rest. Anyone think of converting the dimmer switch to a relay controlled by a simple dash switch?

It should be very straightforward. Is a relay even necessary?
There is even less room in the later TRs and I am moving the dimmer switch on a TR250 to a stalk on the steering column.

I think you could just use relays to provide power to the headlamps, then the draw at the switches (both dash and whatever you do to dip) would be low.

That is what I did on my TR4 when I discovered one cold night that the dash switch could double as a hand warmer.

I wanted more room as my clutch foot was always catching the dip switch so I just moved it high up as I rarely, if ever use it. If I need the high beam I use the flash to pass.
