Wedge Headers on a FI TR8 Anyone do it?

That is how Jeff Young has it on his race car. FI cars are rare around here. Once Woody gets his hands on them the FI stuff gets removed in favor of a four barrel conversion.

Randy-I have a FI car. Here is mine after I picked them up from the ceramic coaters.
I have to make another trip to them as I dropped them back to my exhaust shop for another O2 hole added. They then sent them to be touched up by the ceramic folks

Yes I know. ...and why I talk carefully to Woody. Someday my engine will be on his hands for a rebuild and convincing him to leave it as a stock FI version is going to a challenge.

I intend to leave my original....and why I ma not certain about headers at this point....but putting a set of stock manifolds on when I need to by a new one anyway seems, well, wrong somehow. :confuse:

That looks excellent and exactly what I was envisioning.....what are you doing about the EGR valve?

Tossing it?

If they are the same as the carb manifolds, I should have several sets laying around. I'll never use them. In fact, I need to get busy fabricating a set of tubular turbo manifolds for my green car.

You're killin' me Don. Those headers are bordering on obscene. Very close to breaking a rule here about porn ya know!!

Randy, what the heck is an EGR valve.
Just kidding. I don't have emissions here for my Wedge and probably wouldn't need the valve anyway as I run an OBD 1 computer on it.
It's is still sitting on the old stock manifold though.
You could probably drill for it if you wanted to.

Hopefully if you go that route you have better luck with YOUR connector pipes than I did.

My connector pipes are too long and not even close to correct bend. Neither Woody or TSI can figure out why. Everything appears stock on the car and the mid pipes I took off measure correctly but for some reason the new ones WON'T work.
So that's wy I asked about the flex pipes in the other post. Something to use until I get a new Exhaust. A winter job.
No one else had this happen so it is probably a one time deal so you SHOULD be good.
Here some photos of the new one during mock up.
