Hmmm. There was a John Varley short story years ago titled "Overdrawn at the Memory Bank." I think they made a movie of it in '83.
The foot powder trick is one I learned in Aircraft engine school, many moons ago.

thanks for the tips/help but its been too cold in asheville and we've had some ice and snow so i've been keeping warm. when all of this stuff moves out Ill get downstairs and hopefully fix the MG.
