Hi Folks;

I just took a peek @ ebay again:

I believe Our Man is back for another try?

Listing # 270142582175 / Super Nice Blk/Blk `58 TR3 for $9500.00: No Buy It now Price / Just in the Description:

Sounds like the same scenario:

I wonder if this guy/gal is actually getting some hits on these cars & receiving $$$ from People?

Well; Lets see how long Its going to be listed: If this person in fact is on this forum; I suspect not much longer!

Who know; Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif

Not sure if ebay is trustworthy on TRs right now, I would be very cautious.

For example, this seems fishy to me:
Labelled as a TR6, nice TR3 for $7400

Lots of feedback, but it appears the seller only sold t shirts before, but now has a bunch of cool cars out there - buyer beware.

Especially since that 2nd Tr3 is listed as a 6 with an engine that's an 8 and a VIN that's a 909090909090909... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/nonono.gif It says it's in San Jose, so if anyone is really serious about it I could take a look. All of the other cars he's listed all have starting bids under $1k and no reserve. Stinks of scam.

Wow, and right after I questioned him for the type of 8 he had in the TR6 with a TR3A body, and what company had the warranty that he listed? Now I will probably never know, but I did ask him to only reply through eBay as my personal mailbox was full. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/lol.gif

"WOW", Just Incredible!

I just can`t believe this Dude! The Sweet Blk TR3 was`nt up there for 1hr & the Listing was gone!

In one of the other threads; Someone mentioned that perhaps this guy/gal is on this forum and reading this thread as I`m writing it: You know; I tend to think thats true: The next time one of these Scams comes up again; Be it a TR3/ TR6 / Healey or whatever; Lets All "NOT" mention a thing on this forum & let the listing run its course and see how long it stays up there:

That`ll tell us something relative to this person potentially reading these threads:

I just wonder If he/she is really bagging some people in such a short period of time? I suspect if you throw enough S__T against the wall; Something`s going to stick: Meaning, If he/she puts out enough listings; Someone, somewhere will bite the Bait & send this A_s H__e some $$$:

Play along with me on this one folks and Lets see what happens: Remember; "MUMS THE WORD"!!!

That may work, but I'm inclined to believe that if it IS someone on this forum , then he or she will know that we are way too vigilant to let him pull off a scam... at least one that involves LBCs. I'd rather keep him on the run than give the chance for some uninformed bidder to take the bait and use the "buy it now" feature. Now, if you'd like to set up a sting, I'd be up for that! I don't see why it wouldn't be possible, in a case where the scammer wants funds wired to him via western union, to agree to buy the car and then call the local law enforcement and say "I'm going to send funds to a suspected internet crook at your local western union" and have them there when the transaction is made.

Hi There John_Mc;

I suspect your right John: If he/she is on this forum; Their reading this right now!

I go along with your idea: I`ve emailed this person a couple of times on other listings and never got a reply?

Sorry; Yes I did! After the listing was off ebay: He sent me an email direct to my personal email address requesting 1/2 of the funds:

Lets see What happens;

Gone on a Road Trip;
