Maybe you are right ? But let’s wait for Lin to compress them as per Richards instructions, to see if he gets the same answer for each spring. I have three sets of springs, two old Blue/black and one new Red/green. The only difference is the spring thickness. They are all the same length. So, why are Lin’s new one a different spec of length and thickness.
It maybe a different manufacturer that Burlen are not disclosing ?
 
FWIW,
Hammill, pp53-54 states that it is most important that the springs have equal ratings by the scale & height method. Worn but equal springs are OK. He also states that weaker springs will give higher performance as long as the low & mid-range of the needle compensates.

From Burlen catalogue, p50:

AUC4826 11.25oz @ 3.875"
AUC2107 4.5oz @ 3.875"

Interestingly, for the competition tricarb HD8, Burlen specs the normal UH needle and the 2107 spring.
 
It maybe a different manufacturer that Burlen are not disclosing ?
