Hey Guest!
I have the K&N air filters shown in the top photo. They look great and I do like K&N products overall. However, there is a small bracket that is attached to mount the front flange which is held by an acorn nut. That bracket makes using a UniSyn almost impossible. Particularly the front carb. I now use the method that uses wires in the dash pots. I have just had my carbs off after cleaning and doing a minor rebuild. I am deliberating whether I will go back to original air filters or put the K&N carbs back on it. AN ASIDE: Replacing the nuts on the two bottom, interior mounting bolts is the most frustrating "simple" job I have ever attempted. It was hard enough to get the rear one off, but now replacing them is proving to be a bigger challenge. Definitely no thought by the engine designers for future maintenance. The throttle shaft needs to be able to be be separated with a coupling so it can be installed after the carbs are put back on the manifold.Best I could do
