Took out the switch and it was in fact broken.(78 MGB) The plastic housing was in several small pieces. Question is, where to find the replacement? Was quoted 65 dollars locally, seems rich.

Wow! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif That is way too high. $65 is a total rip off!

Victoria British sells them for about $40 and Moss lists them for around $35. Or even less if you go through a Moss distributor like the Little British Car Company. Just watch you shipping costs. Still kind of expensive for a switch, but a heck of a lot better than $65.

Here are some places to start looking:

https://www.lbcarco.com/

Good luck,
Bret

Beware! Some of them are cheap crap and do not work to begin with!

What ones are crap? VB, Moss or the local place Tom mentioned.

The hazard switch was one of the first electrical parts I replaced when I first got my 78B about 4 or 5 years ago. I think I got the Moss part through LBCco. Never had any problems with it.

Personally because I work in electronics I’d advice against replacing a 25 year old worn-out electronics part with another old questionable part.
