Back in June I put out a question about my TR3 leaking coolant around the head. I was concerned about just re torquing the head bolts and not doing a full R&R of the head and gasket. To make a long story short last Sunday I did just that. Re torqued and wow what a difference.
Not only did it cure the coolant leak but I now have faster startups, quicker warm ups and power that will snap your head back when you just touch the throttle. I messed around for years readjusting things with some improvements only to have them change.
Is this common for head bolts to loosen up this much in TR3's? It was a lot too. The motor was assembled in about 1980 and I'm sure I re- torqued the head after warm up. So if your having power, carb balancing and lack of power issues you might want to re torque those head bolts.
