Am I the only one who did not know this?

 
Used to be rumored that it was on the side the "F" mark was, on the gauge face. I guess the car makers decided to be more descriptive.
 
Did not know that.

I drive 5 cars on a very regular basis and I "get it wrong" frequently.


Edit: I just looked at my two street MGs and the Miata. None of them have that.

My '09 Chevy cargo van has it.
 
Yep. I've known that for a long time, probably because I travel a good deal with my job and thus do a lot of car rental.
 
It's been that way for a while. It is rumored that the reason they had to switch to a fuel pump with an arrow is because some people "up North" were having trouble finding the door :rolleye:
 
I always liked it when the filler was in the center. Didn't make any difference how you pulled in. :encouragement:

That's where they are on the TR6 Paul... right in the middle; no problem which side!
 
My brother bought a 2014 Ford Flex.

The arrow beside the fuel pump icon points to the left.

The filler door (now without a filler cap) is on the right side of the car.

Every time we talk, he whines and moans about it because all his previous cars have had it on the left.

I've noticed that - I like it when it's there,especially when you have
multiple cars.
Nothing's more embarrising than to have to stop,walk around the vehicle,
then find another pump,because it's on the other side.

Saw an tip once in an old magazine from the 60s. Was for women to remember the filler side by drawing a dot on the top of the windshield with lipstick. Guess whomever though of it assumed most women then wouldn't know. Said nothing about guys remembering or not. Oh how times have changed, a publication would never assume that all women are that clueless today.
 
Hate to admit it, but... did not know that. I have learned to straddle the car with gas hose so it looked like that's what I wanted to do..
