Page A08 Moss #5. It is just like the optional provided by the factory. Is newish to Moss I think, at least I never saw it before the other day.

And of course a lovely walnut crested shift knob to match.

Has any one a source for a new heater switch knob with the H on it? The one I have is new even but is plain.

Well, lets get it on!!

Should be nice, Jack. I'll have to look at my catalog when I get home...

I'm still waiting on my wheel from Mike Lempert. No rush on my part, he's still waiting to get the frame back from the metal cutters. My only problem with most of the Moss wheels is the large center hub. Mike's wheels us a custom hub that takes the original horn push.

An example of his work on eBay right now. Not cheap, but I like the look:

Yea, I like his work as well, but the orginal had the large hub although I do like the small one.

Can't wait to see it on Ms Agatha, Jack. Will be a classy touch.

I've gotten them from Moss with both..& with the correct horn push.

I didn't know that Moss had anything but the large-pattern Moto-lita style center ring. Learn something new every day...

Maybe we're talking about 2 different things...are you talking about the center logo/emblem? They come in 2 different sizes

Look in the Orginal Sprite Midget book for a pic, Drew.

I think we're talking about a couple different things here. When I'm talking about the smaller center ring, I mean the ring that bolts to the steering hub. The factory wheels were a smallish 6-bolt pattern, while the wheels in the Moss catalog (as pictured) use a 9-bolt pattern. I verified this looking at "Original Sprite & Midget" and "More Healeys" by Geoff Healey. Yes, I'm a Healey book geek, what can I say. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I do see that Moss offers the 28mm and 46mm size, but that seems to be just for the horn push (I could be wrong here). The wheels are not listed in 2 sizes, so my assumption (again, this could very well be wrong) is that they all use the larger 9-bolt pattern, and it's just the actual horn push that is different. The original wheel used the lightning-bolt horn button from the stock wheel.

You can see an original wheel here, also in the attached picture (a scan from the Horler book):

Another small detail is that the original wheel used even spacing for the 3 spokes, while the Moss wheels space them closer together towards the bottom, so there is a nice, big open space at the top.

None of this is to say either is better or worse, just different. I was real close to using wheel #04 on that same page, in a 14" size. It's a nice looking wheel, as is Jack's slotted one. It's nice that we actually have options!

BTW: Jack's wheel is E on this Moss online catalog page:

Drew - now I understand what you're saying...&, yep, that's right..the horn push is the only difference...the 9 allen bolts are all Moss offers.

This thread got me looking at wheels again. Just spent some time on the Moto-Lita site ( https://www.moto-lita.com ). Jewelry for our little cars.
