Got the Midget back yesterday with new Clutch, flex plate,throwout bearing, motor mounts, throttle cable and radiator hoses. Runs like a top. Checked the lights and the passenger headlight was out. Checked the wires and removed all the barrel connectors and went to spade lugs. Light works great. Now the driver side light is much dimmer than the passenger side! Removed all barrel lugs and went to spades. No difference. I will check the plug on the light itself. What else might it be? Voltage regulator? Fuse box? Switch? What did I overlook?
 
If the connector on the lamp is okay I may run a new seperate ground wire to save a hassel.

Check the Headlight fuse (s). They may not look like they are blown, but may not be 100%. A car shop foreman told me this trick when I had a dim headlight and it fixed it.

Headlights pull a lot of current. Any connection with little amount of extra resistance can cause what you describe. Check ALL connections, especially grounds. The problem is unlikely to be a new connector; more likely to be something that's been there a while.
 
The ground was weak. I ran a new ground wire and PERFECT! Took my wife out in it last night. What a gas!!! Next is replacing the sending unit to repair the fuel gage. That is the only thing on the entire car that does not work. Thanks everyone for your help.
